Brett had only been in a pool one other time in his life and that was a year ago at a friend's baby shower. So when a friend of mine moved into an apartment complex with a nice big pool and had a party, we were excited to get Brett back in the water. Instead of paying $20 for a pair of poppable floaties, we decided to buy the somewhat girly life vest, which is certified by the coast guard, instead for the same price. We were there just a tad too long and let Brett jump in and swim in the pool too much for his own good and a week later ended up with a double ear infection. :[ He had a fever that kept coming back once the motrin or tylenol wore off. Bud took him to an urgent care a few minutes from home and got a prescription for only $4 at our Super Target ! (It's really hard not having health insurance right now for us, especially Brett, because of Bud being on worker's comp for over a year now. Can't wait 'til he returns to work and we get our Kaiser back !!!) He had a ton of fun at the pool and I'm sure he doesn't even remember the fevers that made his body extremely hot to the touch.
This was the next day.....
He was a little sunburned on his face and totally exhausted just like mommy and daddy. :]
And here is a picture of my poor baby the next weekend before daddy took him to the doctor. He and I had been up most of the night because he felt so awful from the fever and ear aches so he was just exhausted. Normally, he doesn't fall asleep anywhere but his bed and the car seat so we knew something was up. :[
