This is our second time going to this pumpkin patch and Brett had a lot of fun again this year. There weren't as many animals in the petting zoo area and Brett didn't seem to really care about them this time. He absolutely loved the blow up slides, though, and went on them about ten times. We even had a guy there give us his extra three tickets that they don't refund so Brett got extra times on the slide.
Apparently, you were not supposed to go down head first, but I didn't see that sign. ;] Brett and I had fun doing it !!

little thor
For Halloween, we had planned on everyone going as a Mickey Mouse character but ended up being totally different when the actual day came. Brett loves Thor, so we found him a really cool muscled costume that he can wear for probably six more months whenever he wants ! Bud found an old "Space Ghost" costume (a character from Cartoon Network) that he had in storage for the last 10 years or so. I borrowed my sister-in-law's Minnie Mouse ears and wore a Mickey/Minnie trick-or-treat shirt with red lipstick. ;] Of course, Brett didn't like the Thor helmet but most people still knew who he was, especially with the hammer. He had a blast at the trunk-or-treat that was held at our church and got most of his candy there ! They had big blow up slides, bounce houses and even popcorn - all for free ! :] He also won a cupcake in the cake walk and shared some of it with momma. After the trunk-or-treat, we had Carl's Jr. for dinner and then Bud took Brett out trick or treating in the neighborhoods around us while I stayed home to hand out candy to SIX trick-or-treaters. :-/ I did not want all that candy left over and will definitely not buy as much next year. Apparently, no one likes to trick-or-treat on cul de sacs.
Here is the full photo of Bud in his Space Ghost costume.... My mom and I had tears running from laughing so hard when he came down the stairs wearing this... with socks stuffed in his underwear to make it more "appropriate." I'm not sure it worked, but apparently he got some flirtatious looks from women trick-or-treating with their kids !

B-r-e-t-t
Brett loves his Leap Frog "LeapTop" because of all the animal noises and letters, but mostly because it says and spells his name. :] You can personalize just about anything by Leap Frog which I found to be pretty darn cool ! This is just a quick video I took last night of him spelling his name along with the little "Brett" song. :]
*I will post pics sometime this week... I just have been too lazy to download them off of FaceBook first. :-/ Why can't my computer just cooperate and let me upload pics again ?!?! Sigh.

"NO !"
Brett's favorite word to yell, and I mean yell, at us right now is "NO !" He has such an attitude and when you catch him in one of his moods, watch out. Everything will set him off ! If you try to sing, dance or clap to a song, he starts jumping up and down saying "NO !" and it will turn into a tantrum if you don't immediately stop. He is watching the new Winnie the Pooh movie in our bedroom for the third time today (let's see how fast we get sick of this one !) and when I was lying next to him, I started clapping during the opening Winnie the Pooh song. He did not like this and yelled "NO !" in my ear and put his hand up in front of my face, as if he was saying STOP. I sure hope this phase passes quickly because he isn't much fun right now. :[ I can't always blame it on him being tired because he will wake up in a great mood, either in the morning or from nap, but then his attitude starts a little while later or immediately following the happy mood. Asking him to stop doing or start doing the simplest of tasks and he yells no and also stomps his foot on occasion. If we keep saying his name until he finally turns to look at us, he says "WHAT !?" Then there's his favorite new word, which I can't remember if I have mentioned before: "Awight..." Most of his phrases right now begin with "awight, the...." If he wants popcorn, it's "awight, the popcorn.." When I say "no popcorn right now, Brett" - he says "awight, the popcorn.." If you don't answer him or keep saying no, he will continue to say it over and over and over and get louder each time. It was really cute when he first started saying it when he wanted a "twick or tweat" (a.k.a. piece of candy- which is now gone by the way... we ate it all and I still lost two pounds. :), but now it's not so cute anymore when it leads to meltdowns.
On a much happier note, this Winnie the Pooh movie is so funny and cute !! I don't remember much about the old cartoons from when I was a kid, but I don't recall Pooh's stomach ever bouncing up and down and seeming like it's tugging him around when it's hungry and growling. Go buy, rent or borrow the movie from someone. It is a keeper if your child loves "Poohp" as much as Bubba does. :] I read some not so happy reviews on Amazon.com, but I think people are over critical of remakes. Nothing will be the same as it was. People who do the voices have died or moved on... writers are changed and have different ideas... Why can't people just try to enjoy the movie for what it is ? I'm glad we bought it (even without seeing it... we do that a lot and are never disappointed !) and recommend it for other kids and their parents. :]
Lastly - be on the look out for a blog post this weekend with real pictures in it !!! Finally going to a friend's house for a girl's day and she is letting me upload my pictures to her laptop. It's really very sad how excited I am to be able to do that. :]

*Someeeeeeeeeday soon..... I promise... I will have a ton of pictures to post from as far back as our last beach trip over a month ago, but for now, you'll just have to settle for cell phone pictures and random Facebook stuff I find. :] Unless, anyone wants to buy us a new computer ?!?! I'd be eternally grateful. ;]
A friend posted this on Facebook last night and I immediately thought "oh man, that's so my kid !" so I had to re-post it for my family to see. He's such a hellion that I can totally picture him doing this. haha... :]

gotta love cats !
I am posting this for my cat loving family. The first picture is a random picture that I saw on Facebook a couple weeks ago and shared with my Facebook friends. The second picture is my actual cat.
I had to take a picture of her in there after seeing the other picture ! She has never gone in there before but found shelter in there from the dogs tonight. :]
